2025 MAPLE SUGARING
The Montour Preserve’s 2025 Maple Sugaring Open House will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9am – 4pm.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
Presentations of the movie ‘The Maple Sugar Farmer’ will begin in the Environmental Education Center auditorium at the top of each hour at 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm.
Programming at the Montour Preserve’s sugar shack will be begin at thirty minute intervals, beginning at 9am and every one-half hour thereafter. Visitors are welcome to arrive and depart at any time between 9am – 3:30pm. Visitors will be directed to the sugar shack along the Goose Woods Trail where they will learn about the cultural and natural history of maple sugaring and have the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of maple sugaring.
Maple products will be available for sale from the Roloson Brothers inside the Environmental Education Center.
Please note: only service dogs are allowed at the Montour Preserve. Please leave all pets at home.

SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS
MARC will host two special day of programs for school groups on Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21, 2025, between the hours of 9am – 1pm. School groups interested in scheduling a visit are asked to contact Bob Stoudt, MARC Director, at (570) 336-2060. There is no mandatory fee for school groups, but MARC asks that groups consider a donation of $2 – $5 per student to help offset MARC’s costs.
